Not a budol, we really made it to Boracay!

I am trying to avoid mentioning the Covid19  word here and I think we can all agree that you are reading my crappy writing ( hehe ) because you want to know how to go on vacation and finally feel the bliss of flying out of Manila again. Well, rejoice, fellow immortals, let me share with you all our success stories on how we went and came back safe and virus-free from Boracay!

Traveling is always considered a privilege and leisure thing for most of us, and sadly not a priority, especially in times like this. But as we go along with our everyday WFH Life, we have that daydream of hitting the beach or just being in the outdoors without a mask and face shield on our faces to get our sanity back. That is why when we heard that Boracay re-opened for tourists, we don't have any second-guessing and booked that golden ticket right away!

The first question you might be asking is it safe to travel? The answer is YES! Kudos to the local government unit in Boracay for being so efficient in implementing guidelines to maintain social distancing, contact tracing, and protecting the health of the locals. There is a lot of paperwork to submit and it's a bit stressful in beating the deadlines to submit but keep in mind that this is us helping each other to enjoy our vacation without being sick or without spreading anything to others.

Now, what changes do we expect in Boracay?

THE ISLAND- Still exquisite with its trademarks of turquoise water and fine white sands minus the k-pop invasion, I mean minus the heavy crowd, lol.

THE SOCIAL DISTANCING AND OTHER PROTOCOLS- Aside from a Negative Result Swab Test as a pre-requisite, Boracay also has their systematic contract tracing via QR Code which is strictly being monitored in every checkpoint. You have to wear a mask and face shield when riding public transportation but you can skip the face shield when you are on the seashore and finally, totally no mask when swimming. There are temperature scanners and alcohols in every establishment and if you are scanned with high temperature, you will be escorted to the nearest hospital. So, when you don't feel well, lagok na agad ng paracetamol at bioflu!

Ryze testing out the temperature scanner

THE WEATHER AND BAR HOPPING AND OTHER ACTIVITIES- Sad to say, June is the rainy season, and our entire stay it is always raining heavily in the afternoon. There is a liquor ban until July so bars are all closed at night. The only thing to do during this time is to go surfing as the waves are quite big.

My brother all ready to surf haha (It's his birthday btw )

Flor having so much fun playing with the waves

    Paw doing her pose haha

Me before the surf...

Also Me but after surfing, haha

THE FOOD- Most of the restaurants in D-Mall were closed but fear not our all-time favorite Andoks and Mang Inasal are still open! So amazed to know that Boracay has a Food-delivery service, wherein there are riders whom you can contact to order take out for you in any restaurant on the Island. You can get their numbers from your hotel receptionist. The biggest disappointment is that the BTS Mcdonalds Meal is still not yet available there!

Boracay ain't Boracay without the taste of Banana Choco Peanut Shake from Jonahs with a combo of Chori Burger, yum!

Found a new fav restaurant along D-Mall! Authentic Turkish food!

LAZYING AROUND IN A  FANCY HOTEL AND ALONG THE NEW COAST- A taste of a bit of luxury is a true indication of being Titas of Manila. You know, when you enjoyed fancy food, an infinity pool, and eye-popping greenery and landscape!

It is my first time entering the New Coast, it was the old port before and now MegaWorld is trying to bring in tourists to the place. Starting this weekend, there will be FREE COFFEE to tourists who wanted to see the spectacular sunrise in the Key Hole area. They said that the ball-like rays of the sun are passing through the keyhole during sunrise, imagine the picturesque view!

BORACAY SQUAD- I can't imagine myself going on this trip without these people! Imagine the tedious tasks to do before flying here, hehe thank you guys! It's always so chill and fun with you all!

And so.... sa dami ng naikwento ko, here is the summary of the process that you have to do before you fly in Boracay....

There you go, hope this helps! As much as we don't want to spread the virus, I think we can take this chance to reflect as well that now is the time that we can fully love and enjoy our local tourist destinations. I mean, why not? There are no foreigners on site, hotels, activities, and tickets are cheaper!

Just keep in mind the proper social distancing and proper hygiene when going out!
