Kismet with Adulting

Dearest Self,

I feel so old all of a sudden.. The #YOLO feeling seems to be in a far away distance now, I wonder if it's because of me growing old or the insane twist of events in my life this year. Suddenly, I stop doing impulsive decisions, looking intently for details before I go with a plan, I stop talking and seeing people that I less cared about, really trying to focus on bigger goals and heck..yeah, starting to think seriously about my future. I never imagine that it will come this soon in my life... but here I am, welcoming myself on becoming a grown-up or so they called it Adulting.

What it feels like when you reached this point?  There is this moment when you started feeling "you are not okay" just because you are not okay.. It is greater than being on a so-so situation where you just feel that you are getting tired on all of this. Am I bit going nuts? I am not sure either. I am having doubts about my past decisions in my life, but, you know you are not the type who cries over spilled milk. You are learning new things and that is good enough to be able to start again.

Reality is starting to bite you, you need to grow up and be seriously responsible for your actions. I am writing you this short sweet/harsh note to remind you that if you want to be successful, strive for more. There is no shortcut for greater things and to achieve greater things, you should set your goals to greatness. IN EVERYTHING YOU WILL DO FROM NOW ON.

But, hey, try to cheer up, it is the only way to get through this. As your older self will still tell you, EVERYTHING WILL BE OKAY. If not now, eventually it will. You just keep on moving and learn from past mistakes. You may find yourself a little serious now but always remember the fun curious kid you are always will be.

Okay... now, what is your main goal now?

Philippines : What else to see Elyu?

If you probably know where to find the coolest and sexiest boys and girls in Luzon, I am sure that you are a suki of  Urbiztondo beaches, the place where local surfers and newbies are stoked with the playful waves of La Union sea. As the Surfing Capital of Northern Luzon, Elyu ( cool shortcut name for La Union ) is one of the busiest beaches during hype time for surfing. Well, going there during the lame season might not be a good idea, but I see it as an opportunity to explore what else we might love to this simple and hippie town. So, what else can you find and do in Elyu if you ain't gonna use your surfboards?  Just a little outside Urbiztondo, you can go and relax at Thunderbird Secret Paradise beach. It is absolutely free of entrance and only a few tourists know this place ( it is called secret paradise, right?) Spirited away in Taiwan

Taiwan's tourism charm was an understatement. It has a nice airport, socially graceful Chinese people and has delectable street food at night markets. I went there last year to celebrate my birthday and yes, I've traveled alone again,lol . There are just two agendas I have on my mind: drink the legit Milk Tea ( because this is the birthplace of milk teas ) and to visit the place where one of my favorite writers used to hang out.  Being a #titamode, I did not find it appealing anymore to go to major tourist spots like Taipei 101 building for I really want to have a slow-paced journey which means I want to take on more walking. The MRT system is very efficient like those in Hong Kong and Japan, you only have to memorize where is the Taipei Main Station and you will be all right.  Food, food, food! All the food in Taipei tasted very good! I love everything even the coriander dessert which makes me conclude that it's my favorite herbs, haha.

Penang: If You Love Street Arts, Ask George

Why, hello there. I am not an artsy person but I love old stuff, that is why even if its a 6-hour ride from Kuala Lumpur, I went to see the kampong island  of Penang. The first time I visited it, I'm a solo traveler. Since I was living in Kuala Lumpur for more than a year now, I'm very intrigued when locals say that the best food and best people are located on this isolated island. The thought of eating a decent kuey teow goreng and beef noodles makes me so excited, though I never think about getting the hype about the street arts which is the famous attraction in the area.  I booked my hostel along the UNESCO World Heritage Site called George Town. It is where all the street arts are located.
