Kismet with Adulting

Image
Dearest Self, I feel so old all of a sudden.. The #YOLO feeling seems to be in a far away distance now, I wonder if it's because of me growing old or the insane twist of events in my life this year. Suddenly, I stop doing impulsive decisions, looking intently for details before I go with a plan, I stop talking and seeing people that I less cared about, really trying to focus on bigger goals and heck..yeah, starting to think seriously about my future. I never imagine that it will come this soon in my life... but here I am, welcoming myself on becoming a grown-up or so they called it Adulting. What it feels like when you reached this point?  There is this moment when you started feeling "you are not okay" just because you are not okay.. It is greater than being on a so-so situation where you just feel that you are getting tired on all of this. Am I bit going nuts? I am not sure either. I am having doubts about my past decisions in my life, but, you know you are not t...

Singapore : A Bookworm's Paradise

Image
Progressive and a strong battlefield when it comes to working, it is an image of great seriousness come to my mind whenever I think of Singapore. When I realized that I will venture my luck to find a job at this city, one of my major concerns is how I will survive without visiting a cool bookstore to do my ninja moves ( a.k.a. free reading of expensive books ). You see, being a self-confessed bookworm, the thought of not seeing and updating my self with books is a dilemma worst than being starving for three days. So it is a hallelujah moment to me when I discovered that the Merlion City is not just a hopeless business center but an emerging spot cultivating it's world-class Arts & Culture. Staying for a couple of months here gives me an ample time to visit some of the hippest and amazing libraries, museums, galleries and bookstores that will surely never gets you bored if you are a geeky gal like me. National Gallery Singapore- I never imagined that I will have the privilege...

Iceland : The Viking's Smokey Bay-Reykjavik

Image
There is nothing more thrilling than exploring a small city where the legendary nomads called Vikings founded their settlement in year 871. Reaching the bays of Iceland, the Vikings happened to see columns of steam rising up from hot springs and therefore called the place " Smokey Bay" or Reykjavik in the Icelandic language. An evolving culture and aristocracy of long traditions bestowed upon a generation to generation, it is quite interesting to personally see the myth and the reality of what is left behind by ancient water settlers and their people. It is easy to roam around the city, you can go at most tourist spots by buses or by walking. I was surprised when I first rode the bus going downtown where I need to pay ISK 420 for my ticket, and then the bus driver told me that I can keep my ticket for my return trip ( which will be free of charge ) if I will go back within one and a half hours. So given that Iceland is one of the most expensive countries ever, this is wor...

Overnight Macau

Image
A forty-five minute Ferry ride from Hong Kong, Macau got the "convenience " vibe of a small amazing place to spend a layover. You can get around the city very easily either by foot or by buses, roaming around can be done within a day.  The structures and way of living here are very fondly because of the European influences which can be found everywhere ( pretty unusual for a Chinese dominating community ). Walking the back street of Horta going St Paul's Ruins As we settled our belongings to the hotel, we hurriedly went to explore Macau by foot. Good thing that our hotel, London Ole is just 30 minutes walk away from the center of the city. Get a map from the hotel and try to walk on narrow alleys and you will surely find Instagram worthy spots. St. Paul's Ruins The touristy spot of St. Paul's Ruins is a spiritual monument for St. Paul himself. This facade of a ruined cathedral symbolizes the great faith of the locals, with an exhibit of the...
